What People Are Saying About Hugh

"In all of the time I've known you, Hugh, you've consistently demonstrated the power of prudent action, well considered thought and willingness to work on behalf of others. One of the things I've always admired about you is your ability to effortlessly move through diverse communities. You do so with humor, compassion and a genuine eagerness to hear, connect, participate, collaborate, and act. You will be an awesome judge!" Christina Springer, Point Breeze

"Mr. McGough has a strong commitment to pro bono work. He and I volunteered at what was then known as the Bethlehem Women's Shelter.  The typical client was in most instances mentally challenged which resulted in a high degree of homelessness.  Despite being told repeatedly by other attorney volunteers not to give out his card with his private information, Mr. McGough believed that in some situations, the only way to adequately help the client since they had no mailing address or phone number was to ask them to follow up with him one to two weeks later by contacting him at the office. Of course it goes without saying that since they had his office address, some clients took the liberty of just stopping in to see how their matter was progressing.  One of our clients spoke of how Mr. McGough was one of the very few people that had ever treated her with such dignity and that he made her feel as if she mattered.  His attitude of compassion for his fellow man, tempered by the ability to see all sides of an issue, will make him an excellent judge."  Beth Brandstetter Fischman , Monroeville
